as well as Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, started in 1853 as a Public and School Library,
it became in 1867 an independent Public Library for the CIty, and in 1898 the Library for all of Hamilton
County. Oriental Powder Mills were established in 1818 and had branches in Boston, 13 Broad Street, Buffalo, 34 Church Street, Baltimore, 130 South Charles Street, Cincinnati, 35 West Second Street, later changed to 83 West 2nd Street, and St. Louis, Equitable Building This powder mill was one of the oldest and largest powder manufactories in the United States. Their most prominent brands were "Western Sporting" and " Wing Shot". Other brands were "Wild Fowl" and "Falcon Ducking". They also had "Blasting powder" and "A Blasting powder". |
